Safety Is Paramount at Our Pet Boarding Resort in Miami

At Miami’s Woodland Lodge Pet Resort, it’s our goal to make sure your pet has a wonderful time while they’re in our care. In order to meet that goal, we have standards and requirements for the safety and comfort of all of our four-legged guests, their owners, and our employees. Please take a moment to look at the requirements we ask all of our guests to meet:

Doggy Daycare Requirements

  • Distemper, parvo, rabies, canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines must be current
  • Leptospirosis vaccine is strongly recommended for the protection of your pet*
  • Fecal (negative test result in the last year)
  • Proof of flea/tick prevention given monthly
  • Proof of Heartgard monthly or a deworming in the last 30 days
  • Puppies 12 weeks of age and older are accepted as a training/socialization tool**
  • All pets 6 months or older must be spayed/neutered to participate

*You assume responsibility if your pet were to contract the diseases above.

**We allow puppies into daycare on a case by case basis. We offer this service because many pets have behavior issues because they were never socialized as puppies. However, you assume all responsibility for any head colds or illnesses that they may contract from socializing them at such a young age.

Dog Boarding Requirements

  • Distemper, parvo, rabies, canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines must be current
  • Leptospirosis vaccine is strongly recommended for the protection of your pet*
  • Fecal (negative test result in the last year)
  • Proof of flea/tick prevention given monthly
  • Proof of Heartgard monthly or a deworming in the last 30 days
  • Intact females & males will be accepted, but only spayed/neutered pets can participate in group play
  • Not recommended for pets under 20 weeks of age**

*You assume responsibility if your pet were to contract the diseases above.

**We discourage pets under 20 weeks of age from boarding because boarding a young puppy with a large group of other dogs is akin to putting a toddler in daycare. It doesn’t matter how healthy they are. They are more likely to become sick. When sick, their symptoms are typically more severe than that of an adult animal.

Cat Boarding Requirements

  • FVRCP (feline rhinotracheitits, calicivirus, panleukopenia, and Chlamydia) vaccines, Rabies and FeLV vaccines must be current
  • FeLV/FIV test results from last 12 months need to be provided
  • Fecal (negative results from past year)

We maintain a parasite-free environment. If fleas and ticks are found on your pet, they will be treated, and an extra fee will be added to your account.

Please note that boarding requirements apply to all pets that stay at Miami’s Woodland Lodge Pet Resort. If you wish to learn more, we invite you to visit our FAQ page to read about our rules and policies.
